Disciples that Imitate Christ or Imitate Jonah?

Posted in: 2011 LIVE SENT CONVERSATION, Videos

The Ninivites didn’t deserve God’s forgiveness, according to Jonah.  We shake our heads, wondering how Jonah could ever be so stupid, wondering how he could have ever misunderstood God’s grace so completely.

While we may be willing to go to Ninevah, are there other people groups we ignore?  Others that we have deemed unworthy of Christ’s love and forgiveness?

Explore your heart.  Make sure you haven’t sat as judge over any people group and determined that forgiveness, in their case, should be withheld.

Please allow me to go further and present the Biblical contrast between JONAH (Matt. 12: 38-42) and his peers, viz.: MOSES and ELIJAH (Ibid, 16: 1-13; Luke 9: 28-36) relative to their unacknolwedged big difference today on the subject of the “living God” and the “God of the living” (Matt. 22: 29-33) –the central theme of the resurrection!
